Key Responsibilities in Stores Officer  Jobs in Siavonga

As a Stores Officer at Yalelo Zambia, you will play a vital role in maintaining smooth inventory operations through the following responsibilities:

  • Accurately receiving, storing, and dispatching orders to satellite locations.
  • Forecasting supply and demand to avoid overstocking or stockouts.
  • Overseeing the proper storage of products, with special attention to fragile items.
  • Coordinating regular inventory audits, including stock-takes and cycle counts.
  • Assessing the integrity and quality of produce.
  • Monitoring low stock levels using inventory tracking tools.
  • Managing the dispatch of stock between warehouses, stores, and production facilities efficiently.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date bin cards, delivery notes, and stock dispatch records.
  • Ensuring compliance with material requisition procedures and safekeeping of key documents such as invoices and certificates of analysis (COAs).
  • Supporting accurate supplier account reconciliation by verifying goods received notes (GRNs), purchase orders (POs), and invoices, and ensuring proper digital filing in Google Drive or One Drive.
  • Collaborating closely with Procurement, Finance, and various user departments to resolve inventory and record management issues promptly.

Qualifications and Skills Required

The ideal candidate for this role will bring the following qualifications and expertise:

  • A diploma or higher qualification in Purchase and Supply or a related field such as Inventory Management.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience as a stores officer or in a similar inventory management position.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with SAGE accounting software is preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Essential skills include:

  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Advanced Excel skills for inventory tracking and reporting.
  • Strong record-keeping and organizational capabilities.
